The Hope Of A Nation

What change? Who said anything about change? Like the proverbial ostrich who stuck her head in the sand to avoid the present danger, so we stand with all but our attention exposed to the threatening winds of change. We have a tendency to leave the fight to the “masters” of those realms which are unfamiliar to us. Even when the change threatens our moral and social fabric, we groan at the effort required to gain even a working knowledge of these social ills. The ability to defend our feeble comments in places of little consequence, seems so petty a reward for our efforts.
Many such threatening events don the headlines of our day, such as the recent “Gay Marriage” issue that looms in the balance.

The “masters” of the realm, in which such things are debated with consequence, are our politicians, along with those special interest lobbyists who live for a cause that has been neither defined nor understood by the masses that they supposedly represent. Evil is at work in our day, and we who stand on the sidelines to cheer or to jeer, are much to blame for the freedoms that are being lost to it.
For so it is, that for the most part we do “nothing” to combat the forces of evil. ...But what can we do? God has prescribed the answer...

Pray I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. (1Timothy 2:1-2).

Preach All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. (2Timothy 3:16-17).

Present the Christ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16). He is our Hope !
